Membership in ABCST is required in order to begin collecting clinical hours toward certification.
Members must be able to sign the ABCST Statement of Faith and General Theology of Sex. Download a copy HERE.
If you are unable to sign the Statement of Faith and General Theology of Sex, we want to encourage you on your journey of sexual wholeness and helping others and would recommend you look at other sex therapy certification boards
Membership Types
Graduate Student Membership
$85.00
This membership level allows graduate students in a mental health counseling program to join the ABCST community at a discounted fee and to begin the sex therapy certification process while in graduate-level training (students can begin to count sex therapy hours toward certification post-practicum).

General Membership

This membership level is for post-Masters level mental health clinicians pursuing training and certification in sex therapy. This also includes Certified Sex Therapists from other organizations desiring to join our Christian Community.

Sex Therapy Associate Membership

This membership level is for all persons that have received a Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or mental health, are provisionally licensed or fully licensed in their state of practice, and are working toward certification in sex therapy from ABCST.

Sex Therapy Associate membership is available to General Members who have completed the required hours of sex therapy training:
For fully licensed Members (able to practice independently in their state of practice): 30 hours of sex therapy training
For Members with an associate’s license/intern license (not yet fully licensed to practice independently in their state of practice): 60 hours of sex therapy training
General Members may apply for Sex Therapy Associate Membership from the ABCST Membership Hub.
Certified Sex Therapist Membership
$200.00
This membership level is reserved for professionals that are fully licensed and have obtained a certification in sex therapy from ABCST. These members receive all of the benefits available to members.
