Advanced Sexual Addiction Counseling
(CPSY 7582)

CPSY 7582 takes an in-depth and advanced look at current theories and treatment approaches to addressing sexual addiction. Students will explore the diagnosis, etiology, disease process, treatment, recovery process, and current research findings for sexual addictions in males and females.

This course is taught by recognized leaders in the field:

Dr. Mark Laaser

Dr. Laaser is a recognized leader in the field of sexual addiction. His book Faithful and True was the first Christian book to address sexual addiction. He has since written 6 additional books and produced a number of other resources and has been highlighted on Dateline. CPSY 7582 is one of the advanced specialization courses in the Institute for Sexual Wholeness curriculum. This course meets requirements for advanced specialization in Sexual Addiction for ISW sex therapy students. It also meets half of the educational requirements for certification as a Clinical Sexual Addiction Specialist through the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialists. Students receive 2 hours of graduate credit for this course through Psychological Studies Institute.

Prerequisite

Students are required to have taken CPSY 6512 before registering for this course.


Schedule
